I'm sure the decrease in participation is do to losing two players a day once they became a winner.

that could easily be. By day 26 you have eliminated 52 members from winning. so even if they played the daily game they wouldnt bother to send in an entry. We tried to balnance the prizes so there were decent values/prizes left at the end of the month for the remaining entrants.

Hey Monty!!

How hard would it be to determine who had the most correct answers in the month?

We could keep the winners playing, so they can compete for the "month end" winners' drawing, open to the guys that had x number or more correct answers in the month.

Or we could drop to one prize a day and make the remaining 30 or so prizes part of a "drawing pool" for those who got the most correct answers???

Thoughts?

That would require reading every email. The way it was suggested to me to determine the winners last year was to genertate the random numbers, look at those emails, and if the answer was wrong, select the next email in line.

I would venture a guess that there would be a lot of 100% correct answers. I would rather the remaining prizes be awarded in a random drawing of all the losers.

I would also assume most if not all would have right answers because most of the tutorial questions were complete the sentence questions. Most questions also pointed you in the right direction as to where to go for the answer.

To keep "participation rate" higher, we should encourage those who have already won to continue to enter. And the more who are playing and commenting, the more people will see it and join in (in theory, at least).

So, how do we encourage more participation??

Definitely something to think about. Last year people complained about people winning twice, however I think there were only 2 or 3 people who did.

The answer for the 28th has been posted. I counted 49 entries. The random numbers drawn were 27 & 32. Number 27 was Corey Boulton. He didn't indicate his username in the email. I searched the members list for corey Boulton, and Cboulton, without results. The next name in line was Yaroslaw.

We are done. Thanks for the help.

I had a few that did not include their username also so I had to disqualify them from winning.

Another idea: Limit the winning to TWICE.

That way, they keep playing.
