on the reference guide i seen measurements on brass tubes but I am thinking it may be a typo, reference shows top tube as being 1.90 and bottom tube is 1.85. I always thought the bottom was a tad bit longer than top tube. I don't have any to check measurements. I was wanting to buy molds for a triton. I know its the same drill bits as the jr gent, 12.5 and 10.5.... but how much difference in length. TIA

Yea, the Triton, while having the same DIAMETER tubes as the CSUSA Jr2 Series (10.5mm & 12.5mm) has a significantly shorter body tube than the Jr2 series due to the longer metal nib section (at least on the Roller, I've never done a Triton Fountain..) I've had blanks that I REALLY wanted to make a Triton out of, as i like the ornamentation, but the short nature of the body blank would not have fit what I wanted in it.

I've bought Jr. Gent and used with Triton hardware. I like the pen better that way. I made the adjustment at Ed at a Exotic Blanks suggestion.

There is no reason NOT to use the longer tubes. I like to see more material, too, so I just use the Jr. Gent (or Atrax) tubes. If you are making a rollerball, you need a longer spring for the back of the refill. MOST good hardware stores carry springs---I buy one that is about a foot long and cut the springs at about 3/4" for the Triton.

The triton is most similar to the Jr. Statesman, although it has chrome instead of rhodium. It sells for about half the price. I will do a fair amount of "modifying" to save 50%!!!

But then, I never "sold" plating, I sold durability. Chrome is second to none. TiGold is the most durable in the "gold-look". For me, this would be a winning combination!!

FWIW,
Ed

I thread the spring onto a small section of 1/4x20 threaded rod instead of buying a longer spring, but do whatever floats your boat.
