Just received a Triton that I purchased from Amazon. Hooked it up overnight to charge, and had trouble getting it to charge. Had to turn the motor unit on its side in a particular orientation to get the charge light to stay on. Went to use it today, and the motor kept cutting out, depending on how I was moving. Seems to me that there is a loose connection, but I can't seem to figure out how to get into the cavity with the three additional batteries. And of course, the Triton customer line is closed over the weekend. Any suggestions or should I just return this thing to Amazon?

Recently someone posted a source for new batteries for these, perhaps they know the trick to opening up the unit.

Cheers,

Absolutely send it back. If you fiddle with it, it may invalidate your warrantee. That's a nice piece of equipment and I hope to buy one someday.

I'm sorry, I didn't see how old this post was. Did you send it back?

I did contact Amazon, the immediately sent out a replacement, and gave me a prepaid return label for the broken one. The new one works great and I'm glad I made the investment. I like the integrated hearing protection and the headset is quite lightweight as the motor and batteries are on the belt pack. Now I just need to update the filtration on my DC and add an air cleaner as budget allows to help reduce the fine dust from getting into the rest of the house. My shop is in the basement.

Cheers,
