Tried out the Varita closed end kit, and I really like it. The wife ended up claiming this one as she likes the smaller more compact pens. Though you can make this as long as you like.

The blank is "Four Color Nebula" from Exotic.

Nice! I understand that there are no instructions for this kit. What are the dimensions of the pen?

Yeah there are no instructions for it, but it's not bad. You have the cap, nib section, ink, spring, and a butt cap?. The butt cap will press into the tube to create a "stop" for the ink to sit against. Then you just drill out the blank to the length of the tube. Glue in the tube and turn on a closed end mandrel as normal. I think I ended up at just about 12mm thick and I didn't measure the length. I did make it kinda short as the wife claimed it and she likes the smaller lighter pens. I can measure it tonight when I get home.

This little gel pen looked promising, so I ordered a few. Here are the basic dimensions, in case anybody else is thinking about trying them:

Tube diameter - 10mm
Tube length - 2.9688 in. (2 31/32)
Bushing diameter - 0.4735 in.
