Transformation pen I sent to toddlajoie

Todd asked if I had any pictures of the pen I sent him in the transformation swap, so I figured I'd post them up here.

The main pen body is Desert Ironwood. The dividers between the segments in the cap are some sort of palm I think and the blue at best guess is maybe corian? He would have to confirm the segmented material as I just picked pieces out of the box he sent me that I thought would work well together.

I LOVE this pen. Great segmenting....gonna have to give that design a try.

That came out REALLY nice. Love the balance of color and the POP that the blue gives it.

The blue is commercial PVC Pipe. The top and bottom segments are lacewood but I'm not 100% positive if the horizontal bands are the same or one of the other pieces I sent along (I forget exactly what they all were....)

The pen is spectacular, Fit and finish are perfect, and there is supper cool stand he made from a chunk of bark and soapstone I sent him that he did not post photos of. I'm going to take some photos also and will post them in a bit!!!

I never would have guessed that to be PVC, especially in a blank that thick :biggrin:

I was also sure it was palm that i used in the segments since it was made up of reeds of sorts. I could be wrong though, maybe I was going to use the palm and ended up with the other because of the color match.

I forgot to take pictures of the stand with the pen.

Was a very fun pen to make. Glad Todd was happy with the end result!

Here are a few shots with the stand, and a close up of the segments. I'm pretty sure this pattern is from lacewood, tho I could be wrong...
