Tranny was to short for the 30.06 cartage pens I was making. So I got to thinking, the casing was the problem, so just cut it off 1/4". Problem solved. What do you think? Good solution or not?

Was the tranny too short because you pushed it into the tube to the line where you would normally push it into making a regular pen or were you having other issues?

Pushing it in further has had no effect when I have done it, but I use a bullet as a nib. I think you have had some good problem solving going on but what I would be worried about is your customer base will notice that the casing is shorter. It may not bother some but others it may.

Tranny is to short because the casing is to long. It works as is but by the time you get the tranny pushed in far enough for the tip to extend out of the nib there is not much left to hold the top.

Hi, are you talking about a 30-36 or 30-06,I know i use the slims tranny in a 30-06 with no worry about fit,the tranny goes in a little further but it is no problem.I didn`t know there was a 30-36 but i don`t know too much about all the differant cartridge sizes. Carl
