Michael, That would have been awesome to get to see one of those. This B-1 was huge! Neat getting to see it. Plus it was so low to the ground. You could actually see the cockpit and pilot.
I would have thought that you would see these pretty regularly with your proximity to Carswell. Of course, the government in their finite wisdom may have closed Carswell since I left in 89.
They havent closed it but they dont come this way much. Usually the only time they come this way is when the President comes in from the north. When that happens, Air Force One comes right over the house even lower than this plane.
Pretty cool Johnny. So much for a billion dollars of stealthtechnology,
when you can walk out your door and take a picture of one [)]
They could have used you as a look out at Pearl Harbor. My Uncle was there that day.
I could have had closer ones than these but the dang zoom was giving me fits. The zoom on the camera probably could have gotten the pilots face in the picture.
Last year I was at a farmer's market when an A-10 flew over followed by 3 more a few minutes later. Of course the camera was in the car a block away.
A few years ago I used to watch the Chicago Air and Water show from my boat. The planes were right over our head and you could count the pilot's fingers as he waved, no zoom needed! It was totally AWESOME!
