I was rummaging through my blanks and I found a short piece of tortoise shell celluloid, so I decided to use it for a pen. Since it was too short for an entire pen, I paired it with black acrylic for the cap, section, and barrel finial. I set a piece of the tortoise shell into the finial on the cap. As usual, I made the trim from silver. I decided to make the pen for a #8 size nib, so the cap threads are 14mm in diameter. Considering I made this on a whim and to no one's specs, this is not bespoke.

I like the clip design on this one, too. The cleaner lines and more robust look appeal to me. Well done as usual.

Lovely work, John.

In the second photo, it looks like you might have stamped something in to the cap ring - or is it just a reflection?

Beautiful pen as always John. When you can make a pen like that without specs, that's when you know you have mastered your craft
