So here I am nearing the end of a vacation with my extended family. It has been a week filled with bicycling, walks on the beach, adult beverages, reading on the beach, naps and looking for petrified sharks teeth. The only down side has been the absence of my parents since Dad continues to try to recover from his stroke. My sister who is the queen of finding shark's teeth found one around an inch long yesterday an outstanding find for this time of year. I do not have an eye for the bigger ones and generally do not find anything larger than 1/2". I decided to take a walk after dinner tonight and stumbled across this beauty just as the sun was setting. Its around 1 1/2" long. These teeth are at least 10,000 years old and can be hundreds of millions years old.

Mount it to a fancy base with just the tip of the tooth making contact and the notched top of the tooth would make a cool pen rest...

Congrats on the find!
