For those of you who make or have made handles for turning tools, how do you finish the handles?

CA/BLO - like pens?

Friction Polish?

Lacquer?

Natural?

I have some handles to turn. I am wondering what finish feels and works best.

Thank you.

I just made a handle for my Skogger and left it natural. I also made a handle for a parting tool and finished with CA. I don't recommend Ca for such a large turning.

I like Arm-R-Seal. It's an oil-polyurethane blend that you apply with a rag like a regular oil finish. I use the satin finish for handles.

Whatever old stuff I have on the shelf I haven't used in a long time.
Actually, use caution, some folks have problems with their hands gripping certain finishes for long periods of time. Nothing, beeswax, mineral oil are all just fine for tool handles.
