Amazing. The lionfish are even in Roatan now. I dove Roatan almost 20 years ago. I guess things have probably changed a bit since then.

Thanks for the pictures. That sure brought back memories. Spent time diving in the Sea of Japan while stationed on Okinawa back in the 80's.

The Lion Fish have invaded alot of the Caribbean, I went diving last month in Puerto Rico and they were all over the place. They are good eating though, so some folks and small restaurants are taking advantage of that and it helps control the population. Here in Roatan you can pretty much kill them on sight bec they are an invasive species and are harming the local reef fish population.

I SOOOOO miss diving the east China sea. When I qualed in Dec 93, the water temp was 69. What an experience! Loved the night dives.

I thought it was just the east coast of the US. I didn't realize it was throughout the Caribbean. Down here in Florida they are trying to get people to think of them as snapper. Most of the ones I've seen are pretty small though.

I haven't been diving in over 15 years. Use to go to the Med and dive off Cyprus a lot while I was stationed in Germnay. I miss it a lot.

Looks like you have had plenty to see

Im diving off the coast of scotland next month for a week on a liveaboard. Going wreck diving around the german warships from WWII which they scuttled. needless to say il be wearing a drysuit lol. some seals there too.

Then wreck diving in Malta in october, should be a touch warmer but doesnt compare to the seas you guys have played in

We just got back from another couple of dives, tomorrow we plan on doing a wreck dive, hopefully run tnto some large groupers. The water here was freezing today:smile: , around 82 F, that is cold for this part at this time of the year. The wetsuit is more for the "jellies" than for the cold.
