I picked this up about an hour ago from a fellow IAP member that is selling off his turning stuff. It is a Grizzly 9x19. Typically I would not be able to touch a lathe like this but he took a leap of faith on me an is allowing me to make payments on the lathe. Well, he didn't stop there, I felt kind of like he was using my suburban as a trash can but he started giving me a bunch of stuff he didn't want. Let me tell you garbage it was not. Tons of cutters and tools that I know nothing about, 2 unopened gallons of silmar, about 6 gallons of Alumilite Crystal Clear, Blanks, Giant SS Threaded Rod, a Delrin like material in rods, Aluminium rods. Just an amazing amount of generosity. Maybe someday I will be to the point that I can do something with this to repay him further. I think the real kicker is that after reaching out to him it turns out he is in my neighborhood. To me that just screams meant to be.
I will not name him or what I paid but if you read this sir, THANK YOU!!!!! You have really made my day.

Way to go Chris, now your gonna be wanting a Mill soon.

Ok now what's the first project?

Ya need any help on doing stuff or setting up; just holler

You know I am going to take you up on that. I am going to ask a friend today if he will help me pick up the bench in his truck. I have to clear a spot. I thought I would put it where the shopsmith is now. What? Where am I going to put the shopsmith? I have no idea. This will literally put more in my shop than I have room for.

It looks like you already have the four bolt compound mount, so that fixes one of the weak points of this lathe. The two screws in the ring with the cutout is the original compound mount for this lathe, but it isn't stiff enough for the tooling to cut.

Wow, Really nice people are every where, glad one ran in to you. What a blessing.

Yes, he was awesome just to talk to. I do feel blessed. I almost bought a ML so many times but ended up not each time.

Kinda calls to mind the old cliche of how some people can fall in a bucket of **** and come out smelling like a rose! Glad for ya!

Ha, trust me this is the first time I have come out of the bucket smelling of a rose.
