For alot of us, even though we probably haven't met in person, there seems to be more than just a common interest shown here. Here's hoping everyone will prosper throughout the new year and develop many new friendships.

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

I just started turning about 2 months ago. I've made 16 pens, and 14 of them were for Christmas gifts. We had some family and friends over for Christmas Eve brunch today, and exchanged "the first round" of gifts. Everyone that got one of the pens was blown away. Probably the most fun I've had as a woodworker, since I could make so many gifts this year.

Most were wooden pens, but my daughters got acrylic pens -- one was solid pink, the other was a yellow color with gray and white swirls. They loved them. The most gratifying was a a nice heavy cigar pen with a dark jatoba wood blank that I gave to a friend of the family that has Parkinsons. He loved the feel and weight of the pen, saying he felt he could actually write without shaking. Tomorrow is a trip to Denver to see more family, and more chances to see the reactions to more pen gifts.

I'll have to post pictures, but just had to say thanks to all for everything I've read and learned on this forum over the past couple months.
 
Lee, it's stories like yours that makes this place, and I'm sure all who received your Christmas pens will cherish them.

Well Merry Christmas to everyone from me as well. This is a stellar group of people. The more I learn about everyone, the more I like everyone. These forums are a wealth of good information on just about any subject and i plan on staying active this coming year and trying to post more helpful info when I have it.

Thank you for the greeting. I also feel that this is a nice community and I have made friends both in person and online. Merry Christmas to all and I hope that you all have a wonderful time full of love, laughter, family and friends.
