Hello,
I've been working on my pens for a while and I look at some pens people make and I would like to try segmented pens.
I'm not talking super complex designs but for instance two colours with a brass detail in between.
Can you work brass with a skew or is the brass what is is and you make parts and then glue it?

Does anybody know any good videos on the topic? For now I don't have a clue where to start or where to buy brass for this purpose.

I'm thi King something like the picture below.

Hi Niels. A few simple answers - or thoughts for you to consider.

1. Yes, you can turn brass segmented elements with a skew (many actually will prefer that tool).
2. Use epoxy to glue up the elements.
3. Wait 24 hrs, patience. Even for 5/10 minute epoxy; the next day the segments will be much more cured.
4. If drilling, be aware that heat with the drill can melt/loosen the segments.
(I prefer to pre-drill my segments, then stack them on-tube).
5. I can buy small plates of thin brass at several local hardware stores. Other metals also.
Keep asking questions, others have more experience than I.

The picture is a simply modified slimline. About as simple as can be, but still attractive in my opinion.
