"One of these days" I'm going to open the manual and follow the instructions for cleaning the tailstock quill/ram. I vaguely remember it said something about doing it periodically :rolleyes:

(Unfortunately the link you gave to the support doc doesn't work. THIS LINK goes to a page with 2 PDFs, one for aligning the tailstock and the other is probably the one you found, for the Nova 3000 but I believe it's the same as the Nova 1624-44 in that respect.)
