Home made--I cut it off the end of a board I'm using for another project- I've used this wood before on pens and they look OK cut with the grain but this one had so much figure I went with the cross cut- it does have that leather pen appearance. Thanks all.

This piece of tigerwood has some really tight grain so turning it with the cross cut was not much different than a with the grain piece- I just made sure my tools were sharp and went slowly once I got the blank rounded over.

That looks really great crosscut like that. I do hope there won't be any movement having the grain completely turned like that...if it shrinks a hair you will see the tubes between the wood and the parts maybe? Hard to say. That's gotta be a bugger to spin right on the end grain...well done!!
