Three Cigars for Christmas presents.L: Curly Mango
M: Red Oak Burl
R: Maple Burl
I experienced a large blowout when turning the Red Oak Burl. I filled the blowout (near base of the clip -- dark brown area) with shavings and covered it in CA. Waited 36 hours (mostly to calm down :biggrin
and then finished turning and sanding. All three were sanded to 600, 6 coats of CA, MM through 12000 and finished with auto polish. Smooth as glass.
