If I use a Bock feed for my pens There is a distance between the treads and the end approx 3/4"

I now thinking out loud. There could be 2 ways to do thetaping.

1. Would you drill the hole for the size of the tap; and then tap the threads; OR

2. Would you over size the first part of the hole to 5/8" and then tap the remaining hole with the 6.4 x .6 tap.

Which is the stronger subpart for the feed?

thanks

Bill, I agree with Lin, the tutorial he mentioned has some very specific steps to follow in drilling the section for feed housing threads and clearances, in my opinion it's worth a read.
