Powermatic lathe for $700 sounds like it could be a great buy. Anyone within driving distance of south Mississippi might be interested. It has a 3 phase motor but you can get a converter for about $50 and run it on 220 single phase.

220/240 is actually dual phase ....

110/120 is single phase.

Dual phase...single phase... all I know is you don't have to have 3 phase current to make it work.

But you do need other equipment if you don't. Like a VFD, or a phase convertor. Likely add around $300 to get it spinning in a residential shop.
