Think I siezed a bearing in my planer

Now I have to figure out how to take the darn thing apart. Of course the guys next door said "Ahhh just throw it out....just tell us when you do so we can dumpster dive and fix it."

Wish I was more mechanical. I would not be dreading this so much.

There are a number of places like this one that have part breakdowns. Most of them source the parts direct from the OEM to you. Search your planers make and model number and you will find several. There are the odd bits that are no longer available but most parts can be found. I got replacement Hitachi (25 to 30 years old) Planer/Jointer knives and the bolts to hold them for a third to half less than the local tool repair places, including the shipping etc., and they were all made by Hitachi. When you get your bearings out take them to a local bearing house to see what they can do for you. Decide from there.
