I was just messing around trying to turn a thin bowl from green Apple wood and came up with this. I turned it green all the way down as fast as I could so that it would warp on the lathe and not crack. It worked out nicely, I think. I got it down to about 1/8" thick before it warped and dried.

Nice job, I've been working on my thin wall techniques for a while now and appreciate the control required.

Very nice. I like the hole detail along the rim -- was that all freehand?

I took a thin turning class where we started out with very wet wood (and added water as we went along). I was surprised by how thoroughly dry the bowl was by the time it was done.

That's cool, Chris. I remember seeing a video of Del Stubbs turning an apple bowl super thin and letting it warp... Amazing stuff.
