I live in North Carolina, a state that is absolutely notorious for being humid all the time. I've lived here all my life, so it's not really something I tend to care about on a daily basis. I just live here you know??
Anyway, yesterday I was making a pen in my garage. It has been a rainy, dismal week here and the relative humidity was somewhere in the 70-80 percents.
After I finished tooling the wood (a beautiful piece of Australian red mallee burl, which turns like a dream!) which took about ten minutes, I started to put on my CA finish. The first two layers of thin got soaked up like a sponge. But after I applied the medium stuff, it just wouldn't dry! I don't use accelerator because I get a reaction to it, but even so it usually only takes about a minute to cure. I think I waited about ten minutes before i just gave up and went inside. (the stuff took about an HOUR to cure completely)
It turned out fine, excuse the pun, and you can look at it here, should be the first pic on the home page. But just because of the weather, it was a very unproductive day for me. I'm thinking about moving to some higher latitudes! haha
