A while back I had to limb up some oaks at the University of West Georgia. I managed to save some burly knots that had clusters of branches growing from them. It finally dried enough to turn down properly. Custom centerband, glued to the top barrel. Figured the kit, wood, and polyresin would work well together, and the results are satisfactory. I like the grain of this stuff. Wish I had a lot more of this stuff.

University of West Georgia, huh? That's funny. My mom is a professor there, and my mom and dad live in Carrollton.

University of West Georgia, huh? That's funny. My mom is a professor there, and my mom and dad live in Carrollton.

I work out there and live in Carrollton myself. It's been a decent job all things considered.

Thanks! I put some time into figuring out how to sharpen the pen mill with supplies I already owned. God bless the Dremel Tool. Managed to get a cleaner surface than previous pens with a bit less effort.

Pretty sweet. I envy the turners who do slimline pens, it just seems like it's more difficult to get these lines for me. I turn the large pens because it's easier for me to turn scale, but the craft of the slim pen takes talent. You did a great job here

That's an interesting point of view. I find slims to be almost no hassle, and I envy the guys that get to habitually turn kits that cost more than $1.50.
