It took three hours of determined work without rushing. An old man once said, “ take your time, but hurry every chance you get”. Now I’m the old man. I guess I live by that mantra. The tubes are sanded and have wax in them...

I just received an order for 8 cedar plugs so Saturns may get a rest.

My plan was to refresh my long dormant Saturn wood and acrylic pens in stock. This morning I managed 49 2-tube pen bodies ready for reverse painting or glue up.
Shock! No blowouts or off center holes.

Now for those Sierras and Bolts...
Were these drilled on the lathe or drill press?

I have a wonderful drill press by Jet. It has not and will never drill a pen blank. I always use one of my lathes for blank drilling. I have seven 7mm bits that are rotated and they reside in water between blanks.

2/3 there. Nice to turn pens, yes nice.
now that’s. nice drying rack. Thanks for the idea of inclining the tubes. I’ve been hanging mine on wire or on nails through the tubes . Why didn’t I think of that 🤦‍♂️
I hope you don’t mind if I copy you

Many thanks for the kind permission. Of the second batch above I really like nos 1 and 6 but no 2 also seems, although plain, to grab the attention for some reason I can’t explain.

Nice work and keep going !
