I took a look and was wondering if the website was a joke, I clicked on about and it claims it's not so apparently I'm not the first person with that question. I don't think he's going to be putting in any overtime on this.

Gee, guys, I am so disappointed. I thought the price included the beautiful pencil pictured in the ad. He did such a good job on the fit/finish..............LOL. Ok, just my attempt at lame humor.

That's just it he did a crap job and posted pics of it! Look at the graphite in the first two pencils......they aren't at all evenly shaped!

I met enough smug SOB's in the art world to say without a doubt that he has customers.........and they brag about using his service!

For several years I used hand sharpened pencils and worked with many other people who also used hand sharpened pencils. And we were just using them to build houses, hang drywall, lay out plumbing, and such the like. They didn't have sharpeners for carpenter pencils then and the ones they have now aren't that great.

I guess I won't need to download a CNC program for sharpening a pencil (see Utube), I can just do it by hand????? Good thing I remember how to turn the handle on the sharpener or excuse my backward thinking is that a knife I see........

Now to see if he will come to our upcoming Wood Working Show the end of March. Since he isn't too far away.

Joke or no joke, we need this kind of "relief" now and again to lighten our day.

Tom

Joke or not, I was a little creeped out with this quote on his Bio page:

"I guarantee an authentic interaction with your pencil".

The places where my tweaked, little mind goes is just baffling...:biggrin:

He guarantees an authentic interaction with your pencil. Can't beat that....maybe...I think...What would an authentic interaction with your pencil look like? Probably should not post pics this is a family site.

Being that he is a cartoonist I am thinking joke.

Maybe someone should send him a #2 pencil and find out...:wink::biggrin:

I'm late to this party but thanks for the info. I checked out his book on Amazon, thinking it must a free or 99 cent download..nope: almost $14!
But it has glowing reviews!

We -- who try to get people to buy pens, but send them a computer generated copy of their bill, with a computer generated packing list and a computer generated address label -- might have something to learn from him. Even if it is a joke, and it might be, it might show us something.

I see penmakers on here who admit to having almost doctor unreadable hand writing, I never see where they might be trying to improve it though. I think an authentic hand sharpened pencil, decked out as his supposedly are, with a certificate of authenticity would be one heck of a conversation ice breaker on the "bosses" desk. If I were still in industry I think I'd get one.
