Thank you for the information. Would it be possible to see a photo of the seam in either the mother of pearl or abalone?

I can try maybe later today. It'll be hard to capture, since it's a change in reflection that you observe. It's one of these things that bothers me and may not bother others. I think it's too bad that there have to be 2 seams in these when the coconut ones get away with 1 - but I don't know the manufacturing process, there must be a reason.
