So how about a magic marker which can write in multiple colours?

no problem! ... there's a catch though. it only writes on titanium. er... moving along swiftly :biggrin:

Here's my Anno Pen

The Anno Pen gives a fine nib allowing you to write on titanium, or colour in, by using electricity instead of ink - effectively anodising the piece as you go. Colours are selected by varying the voltage.

Colours available:

Playing around with a scrap piece of titanium tube (Thanks skiprat)
Ive written my name in electric blue, then coloured the background in bronze

Titanium nib allowing tips to be switched out with new ones made in different shapes in styles allowing you to write in many different ways

Nice work.

You can also tape off a part with electrical tape or cut vinyl stickers and do a high voltage color, remove the tape, then reduce the voltage and do a lower voltage color next to it without affecting the higher voltage color. Here's an example of that technique. The anodizing is a clear oxide that is also an electrical insulator. You can also polish or abrade through the surface and do a lower voltage color. It's a lot of fun to play with.

Il be doing a video for others over the next couple of days on mask anodising titanium etc.

Its a great meatl to play with, and is a welcome break from anodising aluminium lol ... no dyes.. no sealing, and alot quicker.

This is really neat. I saw, on line, when we were buying a plasma cutter for the shop a person who uses a cutter to etch and color titanium sheets. Apparently e just pulls the trigger and skips it right along. Really pretty designs and colors.

Heat Anodising. gets some great fades of colours , though cant say ive ever experimented with it yet

Will certainly have to have a play with a gas torch at a later date
