Seeing Steves roadster inspired me to show off my ride too! I have been pimping out my summer car for 2 yrs now. Hopefully this spring i can afford to have the rest of the paint finished up, it still needs the front cowel and the doors and mirrors painted. My wife considers it a total waste of money, but its just one of those things i always wanted to do but never could afford in the past. I started the custom paint 2 yrs back with the tire cover. It is a sea monster sucking a ship into a whirl pool. Now i have the hood and fenders completed a month ago, it is a before scene where the sea monster is heading out to attack the ships. This is technically a 2007 toyota fj cruiser but theres not much left of the original vehicle as you can see, i have replaced a large portion with aftermarket parts. I even had custom wheels made to match the car. Like any pimped out car, yes the interior is loaded with everything you need to melt your brain and break your bones using sound waves

Total waste of money? That's what they all say! I'm part way there on a car of my own right now.

Tight squeeze fitting it in the shop for the winter. This photo shows off my new chrome plated aluminum grille. You can see how i insulated my back door too, no tape! I like the foil covered foam, i think it reflects heat better and easier to clean.

I popped open the back door and snapped photo of tire cover. This photo doesnt do it any justice. It looks way better. I see its so shiny the camera is reflecting me and the snow and trees outside too!

Hey Jeff, good to see you here again!!
That is certain is loud!

Why is a big chunky 4x4 a 'summer' car? You should be out there doing donuts in the snow with it!!

Jeff,

Now, you're just teasing me. My Toyota 4Runner is coming up on 310,000 miles (and that's just in forward), and I am really getting a hankering for a FJ Cruiser. Yours is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Exhaust needs no snorkle, engine pressure keeps water out of the exhaust. Sorry Steve, no donutswith my fj unless someone wants me to kill them. I store it all winter to keep the salt off it. I drive a rusty beater subaru in the winter.

Well, that's my kinda of vehicle...!:biggrin:

I would hate to be the person to hit you from the front or behind, that paint job is priceless...!

Who did it...??

And about some nice pics from the inside, I would love to see that...!

Cheers
George

Now that's a confusing vehicle. It looks like it's supposed to be an off-road vehicle, but with that paint job and the way you treat it in winter, will it ever see dirt?:biggrin: Nice ride, btw.

Its too jammed in there to take interior photos. The artist that has been painting it is Patrick Kelly of Grand Rapids Mi. He has many awards for his work and is known as Artist Xtraordinair.

No it doesnt see dirt and mud. A rear end collision would make me cry, but a front end collision shouldnt be too devistating. I have special insurance to cover everything and a high impact aussie front bumper that is rated for hitting a small cow. I already did hit a deer with it about 5 months ago and didnt get even a scratch. The bumper plowed it under like the deer might as well have been a mosquito. After i get the paint finished this year i will work on replacing the rear bumper and add the under armor rock slides to protect the sides as well.

Jeff, that is awesome. I love it.
Factory toyota 4X4s are just begging for a make over.
Back in 1967 I bought a Toyota Land Cruiser new and over the next few months made a few modifications.
Took out the straight 6 and dropped in a 327 Corvette engine
Added power steering
Disposed of the hard top
Added 15" wide tires and rims
Then had tons of fun. Sorry for the bad picture but it was taken a Tucson drag race back in 1967 and it didn't scan well.
