ocumentProperties> </xml><![endif]--> Our fur child, Louie, a Corgie mix, of 15+ years crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning at about 4AM.
It all came on sudden yesterday afternoon. As he was waiting for me to give him a dog cookie, he sorta shivered like he was cold. He ate his supper as normal, but when we finished ours, he didn't want his after supper treat. Then, about 9:30 last night he threw up and just lay motionless on the floor. When we went to bed, I moved him onto his pillow in our bedroom but he got up and went into the living room. About 2:30 this morning, I was awakened by him violently throwing up. I immediately got dresses and took him to the vet emergency hospital. Blood work showed RBC's at 34, no white cells and no platelets. X-ray showed a mass on his liver around the gall bladder. The Vet said it would take several days of intensive care just to get him healthy enough for surgery to check on the mass. Jan and I decided it was best to let him go peacefully.
As soon as it get daylight, I'll go out back and put him in his final resting place.

I am sorry for your loss. Having been through a similar situation within the past year, I can relate to the difficult decision you had to make. Dogs are such wonderful companions and family members, that it makes it really sad when they leave us way too soon.

So sorry, Monty. There will be a hole in your heart where he filled it up. We are having to make the same choice this afternoon - our furry girl has kidney failure. Plenty of tears to go around.

Monty, I am so sorry for your loss. I sit here typing with tears rolling down my cheeks. Our little Mitzie, who pranced into our hearts, crossed over August 4th. Left a big hole in our hearts. She gave so much love.

Having moved across the ocean back and forth many times over nearly 30 years, we didn't have pets. We got a puppy three years ago. She is so much a part of our lives and I could not have imagined before just how tightly we have bonded.

So sorry for your loss, we face the same with our dog as we take her to the Vet this afternoon, I know she will be put to sleep 17 year old Lab mix and has been a good family member.. I will keep you in my thoughts. and prayers..
