This was emailed to LOML by a good friend of ours. We have no idea who the author is, but whoever it was, they are spot-on. Today, a parent could be seeing jail-time for this kind of drug problem.
At the jail I work at we recently started a "social ediquette" class for the inmates to teach them some manners. Very few even know how to say please and thank you. Why haven't their parents taught them this at a young age and I wouldn't have to do it when they are 30!
Gwisher, if they had done it at a young age they wouldn't be inmates! I teach high school, and the amount of careless attitudes toward other human beings today disgusts me!
Gary,
I had a few hallway sessions myself, and you know I remember those teachers also in a good way. They always explained why I was going to get the swat, and it was never given in anger.
I still remeber the hardest part was standing out in the hall waiting for the wack. Seemed like a life time.
