A Big clunky outrageous click pen.
I modified a power point from PSI
The third picture has my shop pencil out of Lignum Vitae for comparison.
Purple heart, yellow heart, bloodwood and pink ivory.
Center band African blackwood yellow heart and purple heart.

(add in)
The joining center band is "buried" in the center ring.
After roughing the blanks to a Dia.smaller than my pen mill I milled the CR to a thickness equal to the height of the double bead(1/4'+-)
The pen was then matched and assembled and turned as a 4" piece

Well, Eagle, I would have a hard time calling it outrageous. Highly distinctive is probable more appropriate. You did a great job for your customer.

Eagle, that's nice! I like the colors and the shape. That Lignum Vitae is really dark. The stuff I have is much lighter with green streaks and pretty distinctive grain. It must have a wide range of coloring.

The banding is why you save the ends of 6" glue ups when you cut your blanks.

Eagle,
You must be aiming that remark at me ([:I][:D]),I'm a bit of a packrat and I don't through anything away and now I'm glad I didn't throw away all those small cut-offs since I've learned what can be done with them .

Nice pen.

What kit is that? I have not made a click pen yet but I bought a couple of kits on Sunday. Did you have any trouble with them? I've heard that some of the click pen kits leave a lot to be desired as far as quality goes.

The brown one is a power point pencil, the colored is a power point pen(modified)
The power point kit has a joining center ring.
essentially once it's pressed together the piece is 4" long.

The pencil is pretty much as designed by the company but I hate making pens that look like everyone else's.
The colored pen is modified.

You did a great job making a truly unique pen.
I think a pen like that is beyond my capabilities at the moment but I'm striving to be better so I keep trying new things.

I agree Eagle!!! It's fun to put the ol' thinkin cap on and try something new----I've found from experience an idea may not always work out---but, maybe a little variation will. I really do like your laminations---and it's a lot of fun to experiment with shapes.

The Paul Harvey.
Customer picked up the pen last night,I was out of town and holiday schedules did not permit an earlier delivery.
Anyway she was exstatic!
She works in a hospital and I hope for more sales.
