Have you ever been somewhere for the very first time . . . and you could swear you've been there before?

Or . . . . you see a stranger who looks so familiar . . . but, you know you've never met them before?

Or . . . you're about to say something when you're wife says exactly what you're about to say?

Or . . . you make a post at IAP in the morning, only to discover that the post has disappeared? And then it hits you . . . not only is your post gone . . . but the whole thread has vanished???

I wonder what that's about?

It's happened to me on several occasions. Start the thread and its gone. I've even gone so far as to scan all the pages on the general forums for it and like my long gone grandma, gone forever.

Must be something Jerry said.

Guys, sometimes things need to happen in order to enforce the rules here at IAP. It is not our preference to delete threads but when rules are not followed, sometimes it becomes necessary. Unfortunately, not everything that is done behind the scenes with the mods is proper to be discussed in the open forum.

My reply was deleted also, so what rule did I break?
It was a positive statement only in my reply!
I did not get a private message explaining.......

I personally believe in freedom of speech.

The ENTIRE thread was deleted, not just single posts. When a thread is deleted, only the person who started the thread gets a notification from the software. The thread was deleted primarily because it was a thread posted in the Business Classifieds that had nothing for sale but was rather just a discussion thread posted by a certain member that they were no longer going to be selling on IAP for the 3rd time. This thread was prompted by the moderators simply moving a thread that was posted in the group buys section that did not comply with the group buys guidelines or rules.

I will not be replying to this thread any further so if you have a question, feel free to PM me and I will try to answer as soon as I can.

And just for the record, the forum owner has the right to set rules about the use of the forum. We enforce those rules as objectively as possible. So, your "free speech" may be removed if it is on a thread that does not abide by those rules.

Here again is the reason the simplest explanation is usually the right one. Interestingly, it's hard to imply tone with stuff typed on screen. I am having a bear of a time figuring out whether some of it is hostile or not. Not pointing fingers, just an interesting psychological exercise.
