I'm ready to fall into bed...totally exhausted! The event started at 6 pm tonight and I got there this morning around 8 am and left at 9:45 pm. In some aspects it was successful and in others, I had higher expectations. We made right around $3500 for the family. We have lots of pens that we can put up on the auction website, if we can get that up an running.

Thank you....thank you....thank you to everyone that helped make this a truly great experience!

The family was so thankful tonight when it was all over and saw how everybody came out to support them. It was really neat to see everyone's talents as I received the mail each day and had the opportunity to look at everyone's handy-work and creativity. The IAP is a truly great place to be and wonderful group of people.

Thank you for partnering with me to help this family out,
YMD

How many pens did you end up selling at the event? How many more do we have to put on the website I am working on? BTW, I will try to get that finished ASAP.

Dan this was a very good thing you did to help those folks out. The money will go a long way to help them out --- don't sell yourself short.

We sold between half and 2/3's so we...mean I will have to post 100 to 150 pens. There was a couple of people who were not able to make it to the event because of previous commitments that work downtown Dallas at a law firm that I hope to visit this week to possible sell some of the nicer pens.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Thanks Gary...
I'm an optomist by nature and hope the best, shoot for the best and want 100% and sometimes (when it rains) or doesn't go exactly like I would like it, I become a little discouraged. Overall it was a great experience for a great cause to help a great kid!

Just a little teaser for all of you "Eagle" fans out there, unfortunately I did not get to know him or glean from any of his wisdom....

I have a cross blank that will be auctioned when we get the website up and running.

I think making over $3000 selling pens in a few hour (I'm not forgetting the DAYS of preparation, I'm just putting the EVENT into perspective) is FANTASTIC. You should be very proud of this! I also think that the idea of the online auction is going to be equally successful. I'm looking forward to seeing what's available...

I know this is asking a lot, so it's ok to say "Heck NO!"

Did you keep track of which pens got what $ amount?

HECK NO! I am not Dan but I have been involved with this project and it was decided in the beginning that this info would not be shared even if it was kept. Just too many opportunities for folks to get mad or upset if their pen did not sell for what they thought it should.

That's cool and understandable. I was just curious what that particular market and scenario (skewed as it was) looked like.

Thanks!

Agree...

I agree, my philosophy on giving is simple. Give because it's the right thing to do, not because of desire for credit, recognition or anyting else.

Dan, I'm glad it was as successful as it was, and I hope the web site gets the family some more, thank you for allowing animefan and I the pleasure of participating!!
