I have decided to donate extra this year. OK, not THAT much extra:biggrin::rolleyes: I am sure I have more pen blanks than I'll ever make pens from in this lifetime. So, I'll go thru my stash as I get the new shop set up and, see what else I can find to donate as prizes in the upcoming contests next month.

Here's hoping some of you can do the same. A box of blanks is always welcome. Anytime!

I thought the same thing ED, then I realized it had to be one of the best bumps ever. I realized you could have easily searched for it and found the answer having the skills and intelligence to do so easily. No, you were simply voicing the question for all new members that have not been here long enough to have experienced the Birthday Bash. THe month long celebration of IAP's anniversary. Contests for pen turners of all levels. Daily trivia games, even a crossword puzzle or two. Prizes galore abound.

To be perfectly honest no it was not an epic bump, yes I have searched several times and the most I could find was regulations regarding sponsorship but absolutely zero about what it is in any detail. I do hear people saying some things but no where can I find much detail outside of various post about looking for sponsorship.

each year in February Iap celebrates its anniversary with the Birthday Bash event.
There are pen making events for beginners ranging up through the Freestyle contest. Blank making contests. The Russ Fairfield Slim line contest, Youth contests, Daily trivia, Cross word puzzles, Edible pen, etc. Prizes are donated from Vendors and Individuals. Anything as simple as a BOB (box of Blanks) with a value of $25.00 or more, gift cards, merchandice, pen kits, historic woods, tools, etc. You can sponsor an entire event if you want to or just donate to the over all event and your donation will be applied to an event somewhere.

The actual events and a calander for those events are not published yet. That will come later this month as things get finalized. The Daily trivia is self explanatory. There are also picture taking contests, best article from the prior year, best pen from the front page, shop ID contest, and Im probably forgeting one or two more.

I wonder if, in that archive, you still watch the video where Jeff draws names for the donation drawing? The one where he draws a name to show people that there are names on the paper? The one where it said maxwell_smart007 - which was then put back into the box and then the NEXT name drawn won the grizzly lathe?

(Not that I remember!))

Got more donations coming in! Thanks! To all those who've taken interest. There are going to be some happy contestants again this year.

Still need more prize donations though. If you wouldn't mind taking a look in your shop and, see what you might be willing to contribute. I assure you it, WILL be appreciated.

That continues to haunt me...

Would you guys want some shaving soap prizes from my company Shaving Yeti?

Thanks for the offer Ernie but I'm not sure how we would award that prize. Not all of us turn shavers. It would be hard to match this prize to a contest where we could be reasonably certain tat the winner would appreciate it.

Thanks to those who have offered to donate to the Bash Stash! Still room for more. Lots of contests and, lots of competition. It's gonna be a good time on the IAP next month.

BTW, you'll all be happy to know that, I don't have an entry this year. However, there are plenty others you'll have edge out to win a prize

Party time is getting closer! There's still time to get a donation in and, make some lucky winners day. Thanks to everyone who donated to make this Birthday Bash another fun filled event. You are very much appreciated.
