I meant to post this a while back, and have not been here very consistently lately, just the occasional check in. Anyway, This is the other Wingman kit that I had damaged and repaired. This one is going into my personal carry collection for a couple reasons, namely a crack and some separated CA finish when I pressed the top/finial in. Having made the repair to the hardware, I don't even want to temp fate by trying to disassemble it. Other than that, it's a really nice looking pen (IMO). It's hard to not love DIW!
The story for those that may have missed the previous post from the other Wingman, with the associated warning because of this experience...
It looked like the finial would be easy enough to replace on this kit. I started to drive the kit finial out with a transfer punch sized to fit the tube without realizing that there is another concentric tube inside the assembly that grips the twist mechanism. I proceeded to pretty much destroy that, but was able to clean it up with a Dremel and "glue" it together with some JB Weld. Here's the story in pictures. So, if you are going to knock out the finial out of a Wingman kit (I got this from Turner's Warehouse), make sure you use a punch that fits inside the inner tube of the finial assembly!
What it looks like normally.

What it looked like when I was done beating it with a transfer punch and hammer.

Fixed and showing how it fits together.

The finished product (don't mind the goo on the nib, it came right off, but I'm not taking more pictures
)
The crack and finish issues, (To be fair, I did drop the upper barrel on my concrete shop floor before I assembled it. Dang it!)
