After 14 years of working as an Organ Donation Coordinator, I am hanging up my hat of burning the candle at both ends. This was a demanding yet rewarding job which I will fondly remember. Many nights of 16-24+ hour shifts at hospitals all over the state of Michigan will be coming to an end. I will miss working with families who are greiving and walking with them in the journey of finding a positive of giving life to another through organ donation.

I am now moving to the other side of transplant and will become a lung transplant coordinator. This will be a whole different world of walking with patients in their transplant journey. I have very little idea of what I'm walking into, but it is where God is leading me and my family. Big changes are ahead for us.

Well my friend, i myself have been on the other side. I sometimes wonder how you guys do it, especially dealing with all the patients you do. I'm sure it will be nice change of pace for you and your family. Good luck and keep up the great work.

The rewards are great when we work in areas that we are gifted, but the rewards are even greater when, in faith, we step outside of our comfort zone! Blessings to you for your work both past and in the future!

Congratulations on your career change. I have cared for pediatric liver transplant patients for years and work closely with the transplant coordinators. Transplant coordinators are such a vital part of the healthcare system and provide education and support to families and patients.

You're going to do great Eric! You have tons of experience to draw on and God to light your path. I'll pray for both of us! hoping I can keep them around long enough...lungs are tough:frown:

That's great Eric. I imagine it takes a special measure of compassion to do what you do. Best of luck in your new position.

Best of luck Eric! I'm sure that your experience will be very helpful for the new chapter of helping people. I have so much respect for you! Thank you kindly for sharing! Greg
