Because of the wealth of knowledge here and the willingness to share and help, I have been able to get up and running with my turning so much faster and putting out a much better product than if left to my own attempts.

Here is a small sampling of what happened in December both purchases and knowledge transfer (oh and a huge thank you to my wonderful wife who kept saying "ok" on all the purchases).

-switching to abranet after 2 pens
-obtaining a chuck, nova pen jaws, and a Jacobs chuck for drilling on the lathe, and how to drill on the lathe (I have limited space in the garage and a drill press was not an option) I actually hand drilled one pen because I was so excited to start turning.
-utilizing walnut oil for certain wet sanding situations
-how to use Pens Plus and General Finishes WTF
-how to turn acrylics, reverse painting tubes, finishing steps.
-troubling shooting complications
-and much more
Whether looking for recommendations on tools, or techniques it's been a pleasure reading and hearing from the members here.

Cheers
s.

I am on the same page as you. The willingness on here to help others is truly amazing. Blood's not the only thing that makes you family

The IAP is a Community! We all bring different skill sets, different perspectives on past "teaching/learning" opportunities and questions on how we can improve! There is a lot of knowledge and well-being here.

Welcome to the vortex! As Scott said... soon YOU will be the Jedi Master!
