Yeah I wish I knew what this mysterious thread was. I saw a thread get closed claiming there were personal attacks but if so then why am I clueless about who was personally attacked in that thread. There was nothing but references to some other thread which if you hadnt seen you had no idea what anyone was saying. Guess its back to all the boring threads that stay open.

Long, long story short, a new member came along to state their opinions in the first thread, the second thread was started as the person only had interest in commenting on the first and didn't realize the second existed.

I fully support the removals but had a good laugh at this persons expense while it lasted.

(mods I appologies if I shouldn't have told a brief history of the events)

Wow, I quit following that thread after a day or two. What a shame people cannot disagree in a way that doesn't close threads. Well it is getting late, think I will go cow tippin tonight.

Well I can sleep now. I dichipered mikes comment and I see which thread is missing. I guess I quit reading before it went south.

The first part of that thread was very interesting...until the drive-by began from pages 5-13  I think it grew by 10 pages in a matter of minutes.

It got WAY out of control - by a new member who hadn't posted anywhere else, and was just way out of line...trolling is the only way to describe it.

Sorry I had to remove it, but it had become a pure and simple case of full-blown tripe by the end.

What a shame.I guess I missed the last parts of it to.
There you go again Ed. Starting more trouble.LOL

Hey it did create site traffic. It was funny people had different opinions, and things are different in Canada and US. One that aspect it was informative. Let's see what I can create now!

I also did more googling last night - she appears to be from the Mandeville, LA area...and likes to frequest Chili's, Outback and Red Lobster.

no wonder she always gets crummy service.

Yeah I missed it all and have no idea what was said here. But from the bread crumbs that were left behind I did some detective work and one thing springs to mind: a new person doesn't just randomly join IAP to join a conversation...someone here tipped them off to the thread.

The person who ruined the thread has an "agenda" on a given subject. This person has been banned from at least 5 different forums that I can find. This person joined this forum simply to comment on one specific thread.

From the information I can glean, this person has a specific topic that is googled many times per day. Once this hot topic is found, the interloper forces thier self into the topic and brow beats every one that disagrees OR even agrees with them. This has been going on since 2007.

Some information suggested that in 2007 and 2008, this person was paid by groups, to harass anyone who posted anything negative about a certain group's political candidate.

This person never posts a real name or location, but on the Internet, it is pretty easy to get that information just from an IP address.

Yeah, GOOGLE tipped the person off! This user has a specific search for certain words used togethe (like a SEO). When the words are found, the searcher forces a way into conversations on the topic.

What I am sincerely interested in is whether this is what they do just for the fun of it or if there is a group paying her to do this. It is such a odd topic for someone to put so much effort into.

Yep
that's how she did it, search engines read content now and are relying less and less on whats in the Meta Tags; and it doesn't take long for the sbuject of a thread to show up in your search.

Darn puters are too smart.....

Worse is that you can set up google alerts. You don't even have to do daily searches if there is something you're interested in (Your name, company, etc.). They'll send you an email when something new hits the web matching your serach criteria.

Yeah you're right....just Google "customer spawn of satan" and read the first hit and you'll be up to speed on all this...lol.

Then again I'm not so sure we all see the same results...Google probably has secret info on all of us so we all get different results.

I think I know what thread you're referring to, but I sure don't understand what you are trying to say there....But then I'm getting older and my IQ is probably down to about 145 or so.

She joined the site for a specific thread because of the topic (google led her to it), that thread has since been deleted or hidden, she never ventured outside of that thread to look around so she never saw this thread [here] that was started that to discuss the on goings in the first thread. Now there is a third thread (this one) that is discussing the first and second threads .

Clear as the Mississippi isn't it?

Makes me wish I hadn't got bored on page 2 also. It sounds like the party was just getting started and I usually get a chuckle out of a good pot stirring.
