Thank Goodness for Acetone

It's always just that one quick little job. I've been cycling stuff through my resin casting mold a few at a time. I have this little fixture I made for holding tubes while I coat whatever I am casting with CA. I squirted a little CA on a blank, then grabbed the fixture to move it to another bench. I grabbed the base between thumb and forefinger, and glued them to the fixture since the glue had dripped all over the base. Really good. If I didn't have a can of Acetone nearby, it would have been an embarrassing trip to the ER.

As it was, it was pretty painful, but thankfully I didn't lose any skin.

Another lesson learned.

For some reason, CA doesn't stick to my skin very much. Maybe I just have naturally oily skin, but I can always just pull my fingers off whatever they are stuck to...I've never lost any skin. I can usually peel the set glue from my fingers once it has dried. I often use CA to close small cuts, and I have to re-glue daily because it loosens and peels off after about 24 hours.

CA was originally developed as a field dressing for the military.

I'm constantly gluing myself to something. I have to keep the acetone nearby at all times. I usually notice fast enough I can separate myself before it gets too bad. When i wear gloves i end up with blue bits stuck to everything as they tear apart.
