This is a tool most likely never used in pen turning, but a few years back I bought a OneWay Termite ring tool for hollowing goblet and end grain bowls... recently I broke one of the ring tips. My tool came with 2 tips, I'm pretty sure a #1 and a #2.... not sure which I broke as the one I still have doesn't match any of the sizes posted by One Way.... supposedly the #1 is 3/8 diameter, the #2 is 1/2" diameterA and there is a #3 that's 5/8" diameter. I've measured the ring I have with my trusty little calipers and it measures 5/6" inside diameter and 7/16" outside - and since Canada is most likely metric, the measurements may be off slightly.

Anyone have this tool and can check my measurements... I do tend to be somewhat measurementally challenged.

I have two of them one still in the box, I will check it for you and report.

Charlie
report they come with two # 1 3/8 part number 2161--#2 1/2 part number 2162
accessories # 3 5/8 part number 2163
the ring you have is a number 2 -7/16 out side which they call as a 1/2 inch

Hope this helps.

That's pretty much what I had concluded... I had actually forgotten which one I had broken... looks like I need a #1 and maybe a #3.

Thanks.
