I'm not sure if this has been done already or not on here or maybe the fact it is just redundant. I wanted a way to do my turn slimlines between centers without worrying about getting the edge to fit right. Previously I was sliding the slimline blank on a mandrel after being squared, then slipping a slimline bushing on then marking a circle around the bushing. Then placing between the centers I just turned the edge till the marking went away. Now I decided to come up with this. I used an old mandrel, placed it in the collet and slid the mandrel saver over the other end. Using a hacksaw I cut off 2 roughly 1 inch long pieces. I have 2 slimlines about inch long I bought in a pack from Woodcraft which I used for this process. Using 5-minute epoxy I inserted the rods halfway inside the bushings and let set over night. For the most part these have been working fairly well. Occasionally I get a little out of round that I don't get with normal bushings on other kits turning between centers. With this I seem to need the right amount of pressure on both the centers and my tool usage. Anyways for my first attempt at this I'm fairly happy with the results.
