I am making some 7M TBC bushings and I will let you know how they Turn out...
I make all my own bushings, I've found out that if I make the pilot (part that goes in the tube) longer they work better, I make mine 1" long with 3/4" being the pilot, and the other 1/4" the finish pen diameter. i also don't drill a hole in them I just drill with the center drill.
They work great.

I have made others just not the 7MM ones yet.....Had an order to make them so I wanted to see how they turn out..
I've got several 7mm ones, the regular slimlines, then some for creeklines, and streamlines, and a couple I use for the keychains.
All TBC I use my mandrel as a paperweight now.

I used your technique for making TBC bushings for a component set I didn't have bushings for and all the turnings finished out of round. I used the drawing you have posted and a center drill but I guess I wasn't holding my mouth right:frown:.

Maybe some enlightenment?

when I turn them I chuck the stock in the lathe (I use my metal lathe) and I turn the pilot (part that goes in the tube) and finishing diameter while in that chucking (that way two diameters are concentric to each other), then I part the bushing off, turn the part around, and chuck on the pilot diameter, and I put an indicator on the finish diameter and make sure it does not have any run out; if it does i adjust until i get no run out or as close to zero as possible, then I face the end so it is square to the diameters, then I drill my center hole with the center drill.

I also make the pilot diameter close to the ID of the tube, .005" or less smaller then the tube.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.
I was trying to make them out of Corian and not having a metal lathe I can see I was way out of my league.
I usually try to get my TBC bushings from JohnnyCNC but he doesn't have bushings for some component sets.

I use a CNC lathe and turn the bushings complete and then part it off and clean up the nib left by the parting process and thats it..
