I picked up a bunch of blanks and among them were some ebony, ziricote and Tasmanian blackwood. I wonder why they call it blackwood when it isn't anywhere near black! Still it makes a pretty nice looking pen. The pictures don't do it justice. I like the feel of the finish being a bit less "plastic."

Beautiful pen. I have 4 short blanks of that wood, maybe long enough for Sierra's. I have only seen it for sale once locally.

Beautiful pen Steve. It reminds me of a Mesquite pen I turned many years ago. I still have it and still admire the grain - nothing fancy, just very nice. I appreciate that you did not fill in the grain - I also like the feel with finishes like this.

Very nice. Be well.
