I've been wanting a upgrade my contractor's saw with a cabinet saw
and finally pulled the trigger on a new-to-me 3HP Unisaw with an
AccuMiter fence, 52" UniFence, HTC mobile base and HTC folding roller
outfeed station, and a WW II blade. The blade needs sharpening but
man, this things hums.

Thanks guys. It passed the nickle test so I took a headset washer and tested that too.
It passes the test! If I could balance a dime, I think it'd pass that too.
:D
Even though the Forrest blade could use sharpening, this saw still leaves a smoother
edge than my old saw when it's tuned up as good as I could get it.
My old sleds won't fit as the miter slots are farther apart on the Unisaw.
I know what my first couple of projects will be. :)

Nice gloat Gary! Nice outfeed table as well. The WWII blades are awesome. I got one a while back and am very pleased with it. From what I hear the best place to get them sharpened is at Forest.

You're gonna love that 52" unifence with it's sliding fence! I've had mine for probably 15 or 20 years and it was the best single buy I ever made in my shop......except my lathe of course!:D

My only problem is that I use the outfeed table as a work table and over the years the ruler has been damaged by chemical and solvent spills so anything between 22" and 25" and 38" and 43" still requires a tape measure [:0]

I sold my General contractors saw with the B fence to my son and picked up a used unisaw with Unifence and absolutely HATE it. The switch is on the wrong side it tilts the wrong way and the fence is always sticking out to catch my arm on. Can wait until I can get another Powermatic model 66 with a real fence.:([V]

Pretty much identical to what I got used - except I had some other goodies thrown in. The sliding table that I had wouldn't fit in my shop, so I removed it from the saw and sold it for $250 - dropping my price for the same machine and all accessories to about $750.

You got a GREAT table saw.

The only thing I would suggest is to move the power switches from where they are to the left side. It makes me uneasy to see that you have to lean so far over to turn off the saw when cutting standard stuff. I think it is set WAY too far right.

Good luck with your new toy!

Best wishes,
Roger Garrett
