First, thank you for all your good wishes and prayers that helped me get through my lung surgery in July. They got the whole growth out, and it was not cancerous, just what they call 'pre-cancerous' whatever that means.

But now I am having my (hopefully) last surgery on my left leg tomorrow. 2 plates, 2 pins and a bunch of screws in the ankle/calcaneus (heel bone.)

My right leg is all set after 3 surgeries, and now this 2nd one on the left should finally get me back to 80% of where I was before the ladder went out from under me. That's as good as it is going to get.....but 1000% better than where I was!

I have a "rollabout" and an "iwalkfree" so hopefully after a few days I will be back at the lathe! Total time of non-weight-bearing is only six weeks this time. Then six weeks in a 'boot.'

Your thoughts and prayers are requested.

Chip, You're probably already on your way in, so I'll hope when you get around to reading this everything went well. I've seen similar surgeries done, and I can say for certain that these guys have tools that would make nearly everyone on this board drool, and they're DAMN good at using them!!!

As said before, 6 weeks can seem like an eternity at first, but you'd be surprised how quick it can go by.
