Now that winter and cooler temps have passed, I now have a nicely warm shop and a few beads of sweat. I've only been turning for a few months so have been fortunate to have had only a few CA glue mishaps - and minor at that.
We're all probably aware that CA glue bonds skin - to anything you touch. But, now that there's a little sweat involved - and I don't know anything about the chemistry - but I do know that sweat acts like CA accelerator with instant hardening and the associated exothermic reaction.
I recently had a drop of thin CA roll around the back side of my sweaty finger and - can you spell 3rd degree burn? Ouch!!! That stuff was cooking!!!
Lesson learned. Have fun, but be careful.
