Suggestions Needed

I have been asked to donate some pens for a silent auction, to help raise money for Hospice. The event is coming up next Saturday, March 10th. Hospice is a wonderful group of gifted people that help a lot of folks. The last month that my MIL was alive they came every day and took care of her. So now it is my time to help them out. I am going to make some pens and just dont want to do slimlines. I am open to suggestions, so please throw some at me. Time is short.

I think the Russ line could fetch a good amount. look at the Russ Fairfield Memorial competition. I had not liked slims until I saw his designs.

I do a lot of donations. I have found that they not only support great causes like Hospice, but they are a great way to get the word out about your work. That being said - I always strive to put my best out there. Go for a piece that will create conversation and draw attention. I have found rollerballs to be more popular than fountains for fund raisers. I would suggest a Venus or Jr. Gent

Keith, I'm sorry for your loss. You might get with Tim at Wood-N-Whimsies. I know they can replace the pink ribbon on their kits with something else. I found this link for a Hospice purple and green ribbon. If you tell me how, I'll help however I can.

Sierra pens are single tube and you can dress them up alot. Do some segmenting and some tru stone.

Scott is right, I also try using my best work for donations. I also include a sheet printed on some nice parchment paper explaining all of the details of the pen: the wood, the finish, the hardware, as well as what sort of ink it takes and how to change it.

I'm donating a set for a local auction. They had a theme "Destination London" so stamp pens seemed right. I'm doing a statesmen with US stamps(his) and a Jr.(hers) with British stamps in a rosewood box.

Look for a theme or any other tie in and make your best work yet.

I recommend "Awareness" pens. Go to lazerlinez.com or woodnwhimsies. They both have a full line of awareness blanks. Easy to make and a great gift. Compatible with Gatsby's, Sierras, Wall Street IIs and others. Good luck.
