Suggestion for Marine / FBI Agent

Looking for suggestions on a good kit for a marine who now works for the FBI, so highlighting either career would be fine. His birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I'd like to say thank you for your past and continued service.

I considered PSI's bolt action pen, but I've never been overly fond of the quality I get from their kits... not necessarily bad, but not exactly top notch, either. Any other ideas (like maybe a cast blank someone here already sells, other than the LazerLine stuff due to time constraints), or should I stick with the bolt action kit and a nice wood blank?

Another option would be one of PSI's bullet kits. I haven't made any... yet.

You don't have time for Lazerlinez: Us Marine Laser Inlay kit, Pen Inlay Kits ?
IMO I like the Virage rather than the non-fancy Sierra/WallSt/Gatsby/et al.

IMO, nothing to glitzy. Nice burl in a roller ball.

I've turned a few of the bolt actions and they are all fairly nice. Every Marine buddy (and a few other sister services) has loved them and wants one so I would say it makes a nice gift. They all seem to have preferred the ones with metal blanks though for what it's worth.
