I got a voicemail today that I have won a first prize in a contest sponsored by Dr. Pepper. I entered at my local Service Station where I get my morning coffee. I saw the form and filled it out not paying much attention to it.

It is a trip to the Cotton Bowl the first Saturday in January.

Guess who has a 10 day cruise scheduled to start that weekend ??

Even when I win I lose...chuckle.

Maybe you can sell it or give it away to a friend.. just read the TOS of the contest.. Nice win either way though, just sucks you can't go.

Just spoke with the rep from Dr. Pepper. The sweepstakes prize is non-transferrable.

I'll watch the game on the cruise if I feel like it I guess:smile:

Seems like a very easy decision to me. Thousands of cruises take off every day around the world, but there is only one Cotton Bowl each year.

However, if you still insist on taking the cruise, I'll be Mr. Jaworski for a day. Where do I pick up the tickets?

In the end, the Cotton Bowl is just another college football game.

I agree. When I picked up the form to fill out I never gave it a thought as to when the game would be. It's like buying raffle tickets from a co-worker, I never expect to win.

I think the peace and quiet of 10 days in the Caribbean is a far better place to be.

I don't know, when Oklahoma and Texas play in the cotton bowl, Dallas becomes one big party... at least back in the days when I lived in Dallas...
While Texas and Oklahoma are (or were) big rivals and they've played often in the Cotton Bowl (stadium) I don't think they've ever played in the Cotton Bowl (bowl game).
