Sticky residue on older pens.

When I separate the top from the bottom half on some of my older twist pens (Cigar, European, etc), the twist mechanism and the inside of the cap have a sticky residue on the surface. I have also found this on some of the refills after having been in an older pen for some time. Any thoughts on why this is happening? Thanks!
 
The lube they used in china is reverting back to the panda bear snot it was made from!:biggrin::biggrin:

That's my guess and I'm 'sticking' to it!:rolleyes:

Thank you for the panda snot information. You may be right. It is similar to the oil that you have to clean off all of the power tools when you buy them. Where would we be without China... and the Democratic party!
